A common cause
Are you noticing a drop in your speed? The speed at which you mine is heavily affected by the price of the cryptocurrency being mined. Drops in price = Drops in speed. Unfortunately this is something neither Games From Space nor you have control over as it works like a stock market in this sense.

Note: Currently, Ethereum is mined by the Default NVIDIA / Default OpenCL configurations. Zcash is mined by the Alternate NVIDIA configuration. See the configuration you use in Engine Room.
NVIDIA 9xx series cards and AMD GPUs
First off, make sure you have the latest NVIDIA or AMD drivers for your GPU. If you have an NVIDIA 9XX series GPU, you might have to change a setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel. You can start the NVIDIA Control Panel by right clicking on the Desktop and then choosing NVIDIA Control Panel. In the control panel you need to go to the following setting: Manage 3D Settings -> Optimize for compute performance -> On.
Another thing you can try is enabling the Alternate engine ("Use OpenCL instead of CUDA"). This will typically solve issues on AMD-based cards.
How slow is too slow?
*Disclaimer: These speeds are relevant as of 7/11/18 - Crypto prices may fluctuate affecting these numbers. See above for details.
Most supported GPU's are able to produce at least 100 SC per day when running properly with GFS. High end GPU's such as the 1xxx series typically can produce (at the time of this update) 300 or more SC per day.
There are some situations where, even though your GPU meets the minimum requirements for GFS and is mining properly, you could see less than 100 SC per day. This typically affects only low-end GPU's and GPU's with very little VRAM.
GFS plans to publish average speeds for all our supported GPU's in the coming months.
If your GPU seems to be working okay but is not producing enough Space Coins to justify your electricity cost (see Tips on understanding electrictiy consumption), please raise a Support Request so we can make sure your GPU is mining to its fullest potential and explore other options.
If you continue to experience your issue after following all the steps in this article, please create a Support Request to contact Support.
